Inlays (or Onlays) are dental fillings, which are manufactured in the laboratory to fit each tooth. Ceramic inlays lead to the longest-lasting and aesthetically best results for larger defects on the posterior teeth. After the tooth has been specially ground, an impression is taken. In the dental laboratory, the dental technician manufactures the inlays and adjusts them to the natural color of the teeth. They are then inserted into the tooth using a tooth-colored composite (tooth-colored plastic filling).
